For our youngest German learners we have organized an International Junior Course right in the beautiful City of Dresden.
You can attend German lessons specially designed for young people and full of variety, fun and games. The lessons are lively and inter-active, so you will be compelled to participate the whole time.
You will also participate and create presentations in two workshops on ecological and political themes along with other classmates from around the world. Of course, competent trainers will be there and always ready to lend a hand.
A multifaceted free-time program rounds off your summer course and you will be able to try out your newly gained German skills. Field trips and excursions are prepared and accompanied by people who know Dresden well. You will have the opportunity to meet interesting people and places around Dresden. In this way you will have the chance to experience authentic Germany - live and face-to-face.
Your German summer junior course starts everyday at 9.30 am. There is a break from 10.30 to 11.00 am, where you can rest the mind from intensive learning and check emails or talk with your classmates from around the world.
The class ends at 1 p.m. and then lunch is served at a restaurant near by the school. After the lunch break you may wish to try out what you have learned in numerous free time activities. After dinner you can watch films or TV in German, listen to some German rock or pop music and play a round of table tennis, football or frisbee in the park next door.
At weekends we go on field trips and you can explore the sites in and around Dresden, like the enchanting Saxon Switzerland, the VW Glass Factory or the famous Zwinger and its world famous art gallery. We also organize tours to Berlin, Meißen or Leipzig.
Cinema & BBQ on the Elbe, Museum Night, Swimming Pool>ElbeMare<, Goethe-Schiller-Museum Weimar, Schloss Pillnitz, Porcelain Factory Meißen, rafting on the Elbe, end of course party with Salsa course and much much more.
Put your newest photos online. Link to our facebook pages and to the ones of your new friends. Show your friends and family back home what great stuff you are doing every day at the International Junior Course in Dresden. Discover your photographic and journalistic talent.
You are responsible for own accommodation. Maybe you have family or (adult) friends in or around Dresden or you will come with your parents or an older sister older brother?
However, we are ready to help you with arranging accommodation in a modern hostel in the city center ("Jugendgästehaus") in the Center of Dresden. You'll have a spacious 4-bed room. There is a bath connected to each room. The hostel is right in the old town center, next to “Postplatz”, one of the main tram stations. The international hostel is also wheelchair accessible and offers intenet access, TV, Billard, games & more.
On request we can offer lunch in a near by little restaurant - no fast food but freshly cooked ;-) Special dietary needs can be met at request.
In our little school canteen you can store your snacks and drinks in the fridge, heat up your home made food in the microwave or make your self a tea at any time.
The pupils are looked after by the teaching staff and our tour leaders who are on duty during the time of lessons, activities and field trips. Our qualified group leaders take full responsibility during the programme.
Outside the programme and lessons we can not take any responsibility.
->If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to telephone us.
You'll have to make your own arrangement to get to Dresden, but we are there to help.
Dresden has both an international train station and airport. Often however, it is more cost effective to travel into Berlin or Leipzig, whereby a transfer would be the best option. For example, it's just 90 minutes by car or train from Berlin to Dresden.
Additionally:
• pick up from airport/train station Dresden = 50 EUR
• pick up (by train) from airport/train station Berlin, Leipzig = 150 EUR
• Health, accident and liability Iinsurance= 29 EUR
